ALL GIRLS BAGPIPER BAND
The all Girls Bagpiper Band of West Point Sr Sec School had participated and presented their display on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day at Palzor Stadium, Gangtok. Amongst all the bands that presented their display the West Point School Girls Pipe band was adjudged the best Girls Pipe band. That Year, the Girls Pipe band was also felicitated by the Sikkim Times magazine which was held at Chintan Bhawan.
The Girls Band also got the opportunity to participate in the state level inter School band competition and won the first position in the Girls category. They also participated in the zonal level competition which was held at Guwahati.
ECO CLUB
Eco Club had a great and a productive year. The feather in the cap was that the club worked towards making the School a complete plastic free zone. Maintaining a clean environment has always been its top priority.
There was a plantation drive conducted in the campus on world envionment day where our Hon'ble HRDD Minister Mr. Kunga Nima Sir grace the occassion. the Club also celebrated Earth Day, Bio-diversity Day, Envionment Day through Speech, Skit and rallies.
SAATHI CLUB
The School conducted the following programme under SAATHI banner.
The first programme by the SAATHI club of the School was the community approach/ outreach, which was done by the members of the club with the guidance of Teacher members.
Counselling and guidance, on role of a parents in the development of a child was talked about in the PTA that was organised.
A rally was conducted in an around the school surrounding, with banners and posters making the people aware about the harmful effects of Smoking, drinking alcohol and other abuses of drugs.
CCTV was introduced in School which helped in curbing some problems related to substance abuse.
The School SAATHI team also organised the community outreach programme in a very large scale where people from all walks of life where present from the policy makers to law and order enforces, the doctor to members of the rehabilitation centre, the guardian and students.
